Out of all the books in his library, this was the “only one” worth reading.

I was never much of a reader in high school or college. This stemmed from the idea that not trying in school and still getting good grades somehow made me cool — I guess being dumb and poor was cool.

So what would drive a cool kid like me to read a book?

Well, I found myself talking to a billionaire.

I had never met a billionaire before, so I didn’t know what to expect. But to the surprise of my 20-year-old self, he was just a person.. a person who had accumulated more wealth than everyone I had ever met combined 😳.

The Question

This was a unique opportunity. It is not often one meets a billionaire. I had to learn something from this person. So I asked a simple question.

Me: “… I noticed your library. What books do you recommend?”

The question was a bit abrupt in hindsight, but after a brief pause, he responded.
