Hi Jeongjae, thank you for the question. Yes exactly! The signal was decomposed into 7 basis wavelets of different scales (similar to frequency). In the example we were interested in heart beats, and the 2^3 scale seemed to do the best job of capturing this. The signal was then reconstructed from that information alone.
